As I'm sure you are aware, it's not just the clothes that make an outfit.  Shoes, bags, jewellery, make-up and hair also play a really important role.  If you fancy a casual look, wear your hair in a loose bun and put on some flat shoes.  Fancy a sexy look? Try wearing your hair down and slightly tousled.  So many great looks can be completed by styling your hair in the right way. I really noticed this while flipping through a hair magazine the last time I was at the hairdressers.

At any fashion show, the catwalk models will have their hair styled and designed in a way that compliments the pieces created by the designer whose work they are modelling.  Take a look at these gorgeous and sometimes slightly crazy hair creations taken from a selection of Fashion Week shows from 2013 and 2014:

This is definitely an art form.  Who's your favourite hair-stylist?

Remembering L'Wren Scott

The fashion world has been left reeling after the death of L'Wren Scott, fashion designer and long term partner of Mick Jagger.  This tragic news hit the headlines earlier this week after the discovery of her body on Monday.  Since then, a New York coroner has confirmed that her death was actually a suicide.  Such sad news.

There has been speculation that she was planning to shut down her label, which was reported to be running at a loss, yet since being scheduled to show at London fashion week for the first time in 2013, L'Wren Scott's presence was just starting to come into its stride.  Sadly she had to cancel her London Fashion Week show in February, reportedly due to problems with samples.

L'Wren Scott's designs were glamorous and feminine, with long and lean shapes and opulent fabrics, made for women of style and glamour.   Her label was a favourite among Hollywood stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman, as well as first lady Michelle Obama.

With this sad news still in the headlines, we would like to remember L'Wren as the beautiful and talented designer that she was.  Below are just a few pieces taken from her last collection for spring/summer 2014.

The Illusion Dress

Have you seen the latest illusion trend?  Kiera Knightly recently wore this gorgeous Chanel illusion dress at Paris Fashion Week.  Labelled the "lampshade dress", this stunning creation sucks in the waist while the boxy top and skirt create the illusion of a teeny-tiny waist.  I could do with one of these.....

Tips for Making Your Beauty Products Last

We all know make-up is expensive, so it get's a little pricey when you need to top up.  Especially when you run out of everything at once! Well we would like to share a great article with you full of tips of making your make-up last longer :)

Save Makeup Save Money: Tips for Making Your Beauty Products Last.

By Lara Ramos.

I am constantly talking to my girlfriends about what an investment beauty products are. If you’re a product junkie like me, your beauty budget can closely rival what you spend on new clothes. So whether it’s my wardrobe or makeup supply, I really want to make sure that I protect my investment.

Here are a few of my favourite ways to make my makeup last:

1. Build a Better Makeup Bag

At times, I look through my stash and find no fewer than a dozen variations of the exact same lip shade. None of these products get used consistently and they mostly end up expiring before I can even scratch the surface. I've learned that by better editing my purchase decisions, I can make sure that I have a variety of products that I use more frequently – and I’m more likely to use them to the very last drop.

2. Clean your Brushes

Not only are makeup brushes expensive, but they also touch all of your makeup. By keeping them clean, not only are you extending their life, but also the life of your products. Keeping powders and blushes free and clear of oils and bacteria that tend to break them down will help them live a longer life.

3. Keep it Pretty

You will never find my hard earned makeup knocking around in a vanity drawer or at the bottom of my purse. Oh, the horror! I’m careful to keep my beauty treasures tucked inside of pouches when I’m on the go or on a tray sitting on my vanity at home. This way, there’s far less chance that they will crack or explode, wasting precious product.

4. Scrape the Bottom

I recently discovered these little spatulas that you can use to actually scrape the bottom of your makeup bottles to get to the very end of them. I’ve also been known to use them after cutting open tubes of concealer and lip gloss to collect one final application. Brilliant!

5. Portion Control

It may go without saying, but using only what you need can really make your makeup last. I found that I was always left with unneeded foundation or extra moisturiser after applying, so I downsized my dose and I’m wasting less. Making other small changes like not spraying my fragrance into the air and walking through it has also helped!

These tricks have definitely helped me to stretch my beauty dollar, but I’m dying to know: how do you make your makeup last?

Made in Hell-A

Who doesn’t love a logo t-shirt?  That versatile wardrobe staple from the 80s (and early 90s) made a comeback last year and is maintaining a kind of cult status in the world of fashion.

Logo tees are the perfect statement piece and can be worn with just about anything.  We love this "Praduh" tee by Made in Hell-A, a t-shirt brand from L.A.
