September 1971 and Now

I love Just Cavalli. It’s such a fun label. It’s a mainline offshoot with a bold aesthetic of it’s own. Think colour, think animal print, think fur and think cool casual Italian.

What I love most about Just Cavalli (and fashion in general) is how it references everything we’ve seen before, evoking memories, hopes and dreams. Just look at their Autumn/Winter 2011 show stealer (pictured right) and Kourken Pakchanian’s photo of Susan Schoenberg and Charly Stember in 1971 for the September issue of US Vogue (left).

They may be 40 years apart but a good look is a good look.
