Spring hair trends- Hair chalking

Last Summer it was all about the 'Ombre'.

This statement hair trend of dip dying the ends of toussled hair a lighter shade than your natural colour was seen everywhere you could imagine, and it's likely it'll still be a key look this Spring/Summer too (If we ever have one!)

Stepping aside from the ombre look but in keeping with the dip dye style, I give you 'Hair chalking'!

Essentially, hair chalking is just colouring in sections of your hair with pastel coloured chalk crayons. A simple concept which looks amazing on lighter coloured hair and gives a great fun, boho, summer vibe.
I stumbled across this on Gem Fatale's blog, but the original tutorial comes from the wonderful Beauty Department blog which we just love! I would recommend reading the full tutorial, as if you get it wrong it could be a disaster!

I will definitely be giving this a try as I love adding colour to my hair but I hate the commitment of a permanent die.

Has anybody else tried this? What do you reckon of hair chalking?
