As 2012 comes to an end, I've been thinking about the great beauty products, trends and fashion designs that have made their mark this year. Having spent the year trying quite a lot of good, and bad, beauty products and fashion items, I thought I'd write about my favourites, starting with beauty....
Beauty products are constantly changing. Colours are adjusted, packaging is made prettier, the product itself is improved on, and these days the improvements promise bigger and better things every time. Even those of us who are loyal
to a particular product or brand may be tempted to try something new. These are the beauty products I've loved this year:
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr Foundation.
This foundation claims to offer more long-wear and comfort than any other foundation. I agree that the foundation offers comfort, and it definitely looks great. It blends in easily and leaves your skin looking flawless. On my skin it really doesn't last 24 hours, but don't let that put you off. My skin has never looked so good. The foundation costs around £27 and a bottle will last me almost all year (and that's with all of my regular touch-ups!). If you're going to try a new foundation, I highly recommend you try this.
Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro Primer.
This skin-perfecting formula promises to smooth, resurface,
brighten, mattify, protect your skin and prolong foundation wear. It really does what it says on the tin. My friend recommend this primer to me after I complained that my pores were looking enlarged and my skin was starting to shine. I'm so glad she discovered this little gem. It costs around £6 and you can buy it almost anywhere.
Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15
This lip gloss is thick so it stays put longer than any other gloss I've tried. The colours are subtle, which I prefer. It even moisturises your lips and protects them from the damaging effects of UV exposure. This gloss is also reasonably priced at around £15.
Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara
Mascara is one beauty item I just can't go without. I've tried so many different mascaras, from the more upmarket brands to the regular brands you can find in Boots and Superdrug. Of all the mascaras I've tried, this Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara really is one of the best. It doesn't crumble or clump, it doesn't make your lashes look like spider's legs. It stays on all day (without needing to use the waterproof version) and it is easy to remove. This mascara is totally affordable at around £7.99 in Boots.
