Happy New Year to you!!!! With the first day of 2013 coming to an end, most of the UK seems to be basking in peace and quiet following the celebrations of the night before. I ventured into town today and found quiet streets and almost empty shops. To be honest, I loved it. I'm not too fond of crowds, and it was great to take a look at the left over sale items in the high street stores without having to fight my way through the throngs of sale shoppers.
I didn't buy anything. This is because I have promised myself to take better control of my finances this year, amongst a few other promises I've made to myself. These include drinking less wine, eating less chocolate, being calm and focusing on the positives in life. I'm confident that these are all promises to myself that I can keep. I've been planning them for a year now, so, having spent 2012 thinking about what I need to do, surely now I'm ready to get down to it and DO IT. I'm already feeling positive - and this just happens to be one of my resolutions. What a great start to a great year :)
A lot of us plan to be "better behaved" at the start of a new year, and I personally believe that this "New You" (or New Me!) will need a whole new wardrobe to match this fabulous new state of being. I plan to lose some weight before buying any new clothes, and because I have to take better care of my finances my intention is to buy the majority of my clothes second hand from various markets, charity shops and online. I'll keep you updated on anything particularly fabulous that I come across. So, here's wishing you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.
