Yay! Spring Fashion!

Oh happy days! I've just been reading the The Guardian fashion blog "Reasons to get excited about spring fashion" and I can't tell you how excited I really am.  I'm nearly 40 and I'm a mum.  This basically means that I no longer have a waist where my tiny waist used to be.  I no longer have firm, reasonably sized boobs. Now they are huge and just seem to be getting huger.  I no longer have the kind of arms you can expose.  Actually, I've never really had tiny, toned arms, so forget that bit.

Even if I did still have the body I had when I was in my 20s, it just wouldn't look right if I was wearing the tiny shorts and skirts that filled the fashion stores last year. In the words of The Invisible Woman (The Guardian fashion blog) "this looks like being a good fashion summer for those of us who are … more mature. The pelmet skirt has disappeared up its own waistband, shorts have assumed more respectable proportions and idiot neck-breaking shoes are, by and large, over".

Huge sigh of relief. Shorts won't be quite so short, the tailored look will be favoured over the skin-tight look, black (my favourite colour for hiding last week's binge-eating evidence) will be everywhere. I'm really looking forward to some spring shopping over the coming months.

Is anyone else as excited as I am about covering up this spring?!
