I don't need warmer weather for an excuse to wear skirts or dresses, but I do admit that throughout the winter months I am more likely to be seen wearing jeans or leggings. It's true you can get really warm tights nowadays (M&S have brilliant winter tights), but as spring is on our doorstep I thought I'd use the opportunity to talk to you about skirts.
Mini skirts are fantastic if you have nice legs and you're young. Pencil skirts are a timeless classic. Every woman should have one of those in her wardrobe. Three quarter length skirts are also really popular at the moment. And floaty hippy style skirts always look nice in summer. But my favourites are probably mini skirts. Unfortuantely I'm almost forty am beginning to think that short skirts are not going to look right on me, regardless of how good a condition my legs might be in.
With all of this in mind, here's a selection of the skirts I'm loving at the moment...
The first skirt on my list of favourites is this very cool face graphic skirt. This skirt can be found in a size 8 in the She Loves Outfits shop.
I'd love to own the next skirt. I think it's safe to say that it is unlikely anyone else will be wearing the same outfit as you when you enter the room in this!
Now I couldn't write about my favourite skirts without mentioning the mini. If one fashion item could sum up the 60s it would be the mini-skirt. How many other skirts can sum up a decade? The classic mini is so versatile. You can wear it with trainers or sandals, even flip flops, if you're in casual mode. You can sexy it up with a pair of heels or you can tone it down with boots or pumps. Even though I'm getting too old to look OK in one, I still believe the mini is amazing.
