I love the Little Black Dress. The LBD has become a wardrobe staple, for me anyway, and has the versatility of being casual or dressy.  It is slimming and it can add a touch of class to any look. The little black dress has been around for decades and there is always a place on the catwalks for the LBD.  Designer Karl Lagerfeld once said "one is never over-dressed or underdressed with a little black dress".

Audrey Hepburn's black Givenchy dress worn in Breakfast at Tiffany's is certainly one of the more memorable of the LBDs, but the origin of the little black dress is said to be from Coco Chanel  in the1920s.

Whatever the decade, whatever the occasion, the LBD has a style to suit. Here are a selection of our favourite classic LBD looks.
