I'm very excited about a certain program that is on TV tonight. It's not often that I actually set a reminder on my mobile phone for a television show but tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm is "Fabulous Fashionistas".
The documentary, which is directed by Sue Bourne, explores the "art of ageing" and is based on the stories of six women, all of around eighty, who have a determination to stop their age from affecting their lives. These inspirational women will be sharing their personal stories and insights into how staying young and dressing with
style is about more than following the latest trends; it's about an
attitude to life itself.
I'm very interested in attitudes towards ageing and particularly the way in which stereotypes impact on a woman's choice of clothing and style during the different stages of her life. I recently wrote about the idea of "dressing my age" and I'm looking forward to some inspiration from these fabulous fashionistas. If you're interested too, it would be great to hear your thoughts on the topic and to hear about what you thought of the show.
